Learn the difference between British and American English in this English lesson. I also talk about which one you should learn.

There are many differences between British and American English. First, it's important to know that there are other types of English, and the way people speak can vary greatly within each country.

Here is an example that shows the difference between British and American grammar: "Did you eat breakfast yet?" "Have you eaten breakfast yet?"

Different vocabulary is used too. For example, car park vs parking lot. One example that gets people fired up in the UK is football vs soccer.

I gave some examples of pronunciation differences, and some spelling differences (color vs colour).

The one you choose to learn depends on you and your situation. There is no right or proper way to speak English.
